Ego at Workplace

It’s a common problem when two people are not getting along it’s where there ego’s are clashing and attitude is been compromised. So, how to handle this kind of situations at office and at corporate level??? No matter what situation you are in you cannot lose your cool and respect for your colleagues and you have to be professional and follow the code of conduct.

Whenever there are a set of people who are self-assured and high coherent then it’s hard to come up with one solution. Different minds give different approaches and angles to solve the puzzle but ultimately we choose one solution which is best. To an extent, we need to brainstorm in-office discussions to get the best approach but here the conflict starts and people get abide by that who favor who.

How to handle situations like these?

1. Open Mind – It’s very important to have an open mind and analytical way of thinking to accept the right decision.

2. Equality – No matter you are the subordinate or the boss you have to give respect and be fair to everyone. You will have the acceptance and broader vision then.

3. Good Listener – Be a good listener, your ears will never get you in trouble. It’s always better to listen to a person without any judgment before making any assumption.

4. Appreciate Others – Always have a habit of appreciating others in the team that boosts morale support and reinforces the positive behavior among colleagues. It’s a fact that everyone has pros & cons, but by one appreciation the whole conversation vibe gets changed. Especially when you are leading a team.

5. No Favoutrtism – Favorism in the team always creates politics and a negative environment. Being a leader you always have to assure that you not picking the decision on the basis of a personal favorite.

In the end, I will say there will be people there will be ego’s and clashes but it’s your leadership skill to handle the team members fairly and equally.
