Learning and Development Strategies to focus in the year 2021

When this crisis will over??? When we will be back to normal??? Or This is a new normal forever!!!

2020 was very challenging for all mature organizations or startups to keep rolling the dice to get a high ROI. There is no doubt this new normal has also given us the opportunity in many ways to move on and digitalize the extreme utilization of our inputs across domains and organizations.

What are the major changes post Pandemic we have faced;

Certainly, this pandemic has impacted the organization the most who all labor-oriented or machinery based business setup. Although the other hand the companies who can work in decentralized modes like online or digitally have survived this pandemic wave pretty easily in a way to sustain their business/clients or customers.

  1. A lot of L&D projects got on hold in many mature organizations because of budgets or geographical constraints but hat does not mean that we should stop our learning and organization upskilling. Now, this digital era is an opportunity for us to spread the wings and get the best talent from diverse backgrounds or locations. Work From Home is the new facility which employees are availing as a benefit so do the organization also uses it to get the best talent from anywhere in the world.

2. Human Resource’s team to make Digital Learning a part of a KRA’s for everyone for this new normal trend.

3. Organize many interesting learning concepts like inter-competition of skills sets or short video-based sessions for a brain click.

4. Stay Adaptable, no matter what this pandemic shows Human Resource & L&D team need to be more adaptable and flexible to change the plan to engage employees.

5. Training Need Analysis needs to be linked with the new business continuity plan and make sure all the stakeholders & leadership team are lined with the L&D plan.

To conclude, I will only say change is inevitable and we need to be more flexible and adaptable in any kind of situation. This too shall pass,  and we will be back with a healthy & safe environment but until then keep learning and we need to sail the boat till shore. Opportunity is everywhere, it does not have a perfect time or year so let’s embrace the change and find the new opportunities within these difficult times!
