Dwight Eisenhower was the 34th President of United States and he served two terms of his presidential journey. During his tenure he launched programs like launch of the internet (DARPA) & the exploration of space (NASA). So how this famous Time Management technique is on his name and why??
So, if you don’t know he was the most productive person and he used to follow the technique which later became famous by the name of Eisenhower Matrix. This method is of prioritizing your tasks on the basis of urgency, It helps to determine the task which are important and the ones which do not deserve your attention at all. Your actions will be based on;
- Urgent and important (tasks you will do immediately).
- Important, but not urgent (tasks you will schedule to do later).
- Urgent, but not important (tasks you will delegate to someone else).
- Neither urgent nor important (tasks that you will eliminate).

The matrix basically categorizes your tasks into 4 quadrants according to what you need to do at a particular time during your day. These 4 quadrants are:
- Do – This quadrant consists of the most important actions and projects which need to be done urgently with first priority, where the task deadline is approaching or the ones that cannot be delayed generally fall in this category. For placing your task in this category you have to be very analytical towards your task which task is priority one or two.
- Decide – this quadrant is all about the tasks which are important, but not necessarily urgent. Activities like which is iThis could include an array of responsibilities ranging from professional emails, and follow-ups, to more personal appointments and commitments.
- Delegate – These are urgent tasks that demand immediate attention. But because they’re not necessary, they don’t necessarily require your time, and they can, therefore, assign to someone else as well.
- Eliminate – These items in your Eisenhower Matrix are not essential or urgent, so you can, in most cases, erase them from your list.
This is a perfect strategy to define your goals based on priorities and achieve them within the time limits also enhances your decision-making skills. So, let’s try this technique now in your day-to-day goal I have personally learned about this technique in one of the Leadership training I have attended and it made my life some organized and productive.
